Colourful Winnipeg

While home for Easter this past weekend my good friends Neil and Melissa asked me if I would take some family shots of them and their handsome 9 month old boy Noah. We had a fun day meandering around the forks and exchange district in search of fun locations. I absolutely love the colour and character of downtown Winnipeg. There are endless excellent backdrops hidden around every corner. Some times I wish Calgary had a little more history and splashes of colour around town. My thanks to the Penner family for an awesome day and dinner.

Roxbury Showjumping

I met Rachael Coldham the co-owner of Roxbury Showjumping a few months ago when she helped me with a shoot of a couple of her clients horses. During that time she had mentioned that she was thinking of creating a new website and would like some updated images for it, perfect I said when can we do it? Well after a couple emails and a few phone calls we were finally able to set a time and date to capture some of the action down at one of her classes. Here is a glimpse into some students and daily life at Roxbury Showjumping. For anyone interested in showjumping I would give Rachael or her partner Shelly a call. They have a great facility at Ziedler Farms and everyone there was a huge help and a lot of fun.

Red Rock Coulee

A couple weeks ago I went and stayed with Tanja in Medicine Hat as she has been stationed there for work the last couple of months. After soaking in the hot tub, hitting the waterslide and yes even taking a little trip on the treadmill I thought I'd take the opportunity to get out and explore south eastern Alberta. Before I went I decided to visit the Hat's finest at the local Super Wal-Mart to pick up some supplies for the day. As I perused the magazine aisle I saw a copy of Outdoor Photography Canada with the headline " Red Rock Coulee Alberta's unique landscape" - my destination was set.

What a cool place with the large red rocks from a time gone by and the muddy clay terrain I felt as if I was on some other planet. Sadly, I was plummeted back to earth as I lost my footing and slid down the coulee covering myself from head to toe in the sticky, cold and wet clay mud. Oh well it was a great day and I got some great photos and that's all that really matters. I hope you enjoy them.
